Hard to say if it was cleaned at one point. It could have been cleaned 100 years ago. It isn't the orange color or have obvious scrapes like it had been harshly cleaned. Sometimes it is difficult to determine that since affects thought to be from cleaning can be caused by some thing else like carrying it in your pocket or being set out in the sun. I notice some scratches along he shield but they could be from rubbing against something else. It looks better in hand. I do see some of the "WE" present and the lines on the shield suggest at least VG. I think these are the main highest points use to determine the grade on these.

Obverse is much nicer than the reverse. With the reverse being as it is, I'd say G6.

Fine Details but the scratches cause for the coin to be almost unsellable like this to a collector for anything other than a hole filler. I believe the reverse is weak due to a strike through of grease or similar substance, happened quite often with the Two Cent series, I'm working on a set with every letter being elliminated from the word CENTS on the reverese. The coins are out there.

I was thinking that too, maybe fine details. It actually was bid on for the minimum I would accept for it so it is sellable, it will sell. I used a pretty big pic of the shield so people can zoom in and take a look so they can see the scratches. At least they aren't deep scratches.
