The empire reached its greatest geographic extent under Trajan,the direct result of his many military triumphs. The obverse of this type depicts the laureate bust of Trajan facing right, with slight drapery on far shoulder, and Greek legends fOR AVTOK.KAIS.NER.TRAIANOS.SEB.GERM.DAC. The reverse type featured the head of Zeus Ammon facing right, with Greek legends for DHMARK.EX.VPAT.Sigma. This denotes this coin as having been minted during the fifth consulship of Trajan.
