Occasionally I will run across Lincoln cents that are encased in a metal holder with messages such as "Good Luck" or "Eat at Wong's Noodle Parlor". For example:

Cased-Lincoln-Cent

Often they are in good condition. Is there a way to remove these coins from the casing and return them to collectible coins or are they forever trapped?

Is something wrong with your picture? I'm getting a broken link on my end, might just be me.

I'm not sure if you can remove them easily, I've sold quite a few encased pieces with nicer coins in them.
Rest in Peace

Interesting. I see it on my iPad. Try this ebay link instead for a different example:

I think that the coins are somewhat ruined having been encased and probably look better in their holders.

There have been a few posts here with 'undersized' cents that have been freed from their holders.

I'll see if I can post a link ...I haven't had much luck with that but I'll give it a go.
