Hi everyone, I have just started coin collecting and am really enjoying it. Since starting collecting I have started checking my pocket change just out of interest really. I have discovered this 2010 two pound coin with a mint error on it, its clear on the picture that there is a circle around the queens head which is the same circle pattern as the inner core on the other side. Also the die axis of the coin is out by about 90 degrees. The coin is of high quality and I really don't think it could be fake especially as I cant really find evidence of fake £2 coins apart from painted ones. Please have a look and tell me what you think.

Hi and

Are you sure the edges haven't been painted like this one.

Apologies in advance for the link to the comic.

No, I'm 99% sure its real, definitely not painted the coin is of very good quality. All of the pellets of the ring are present and aligned which is rare for most coins. The detail of the coin is very fine and the other side of the coin is exactly the same as another one I have. If it was to be a fake it would be the best fake in circulation ie not painted.

In my opinion I would say its a forgery. I had similar ones to this in my change which were fake.
