My education continues...downloaded the ERIC from the DirtyOldCoins website and have more books coming. There is a pretty substantial coin auction just down the road from me this Saturday and there are a handful of Roman coins up for auction. I have begun to research the coins (daunting and varied values) and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on some of those coins. I'm not sure if I'll be bidding (might be), but I thought I'd post a list of the coins and see what people here thought of them.

Unfortunately there are no photographs. There is an advance showing of the coins (the Roman coins are a very small part of the auction). I have sent an email to the auction house asking for pics- we will see what happens.

It would be interesting to see what people here think of these coins.

I wouldn't even think about purchasing a coin without photos first. Although, I have heard of some people taking the risk. You can do site unseen with a lot of modern coins.

It's very difficult to give an opinion based solely on a description. However, there is one that is described I would definitely stay away from, especially for a starting bid of $60:

Totally agree about bidding on something without seeing it ahead of time.

If the pics come to me ill pas them on. I just thought some of the coins would prompt some informative discussion.
