8-Digit-Note:-
I saw this at a coin show yesterday.
While I did not examine it closely, I asked the selling price:
$750. It had caught my eye through the display case.

How does the price compare to what you currency collectors know?

The dealer told me that eight 1s and eight 9s are the most expensive. Is this true?

No pro here but I would not pay that money for that grade.

with John, but still a very nice addition to a collection. I love fancy serial numbers like that

solid 9s are multiples rarer than 1s. 1s are by far the most common. Just think about it. A series has to print 11,111,111 notes to get to solid 1s. Solid 9s requires a printing number 9 times higher, and most series don't get that high.

$750 is also very high for that condition. I think $400 might even be too much.

The price the dealer had on that note is about twice what I would normally pay if I were on the market. And I would think that straight 7's would be the most popular sell, just because of what it means to some collectors.

I thought 999.....serials were reserved for the sheets that bep sells to collectors? Would'nt that make solid 9's very unlikely or impossible?

Considering dealer overhead and the notion that you are gonna negotiate the price, they're gonna throw a high asking price out there.
They're not expecting to sell it for that price. I agree with what everyone here said, 750 is way too much especially for that grade.

I was thinking solid 8's could fetch strong price especially if there are a couple chinese bidders in the room.
