mds308 Pillar of the Community United States 1721 Posts	Posted 01/21/2013 10:34 am I found this set for 2 dollars. Not too shabby. Are these steel LWC considered MS or AU? Are they post mint plated/cleaned? I rarely buy these and I have no pristine examples of these steelies so I couldn't resist for a couple of bucks. The Denver & San Francisco (not pictured) look more like sliders. Report this Post to the Staff

CGCoins Pillar of the Community United States 797 Posts	Posted 01/21/2013 10:39 am Most of what I've seen that are packaged like that are Plated. It tends to be hard to find non-plated good looking examples(Tho I did see a gorgeous NGC ms67 recently). One way I've been told to tell if they are plated, or original, is to check for any wear. These coins are notorious for Tarnishing(or rusting) even with high grade examples. If there is any wear, they are most likely plated. Report this Post to the Staff
