I bought these raw a few years ago, a nice bright red on the obverse and weird glowing greenish rims on the reverse with a glowing ember center. I don't think they are AT (paid $2 for both anyway), it seems most likely from an album or a wooden surface. What do you think?

Wow those are very odd. I wouldn't think that someone would be able to AT only one side of a coin but I'm not sure. Real toning or not they are pretty dang awesome!

I know some of my coins I had stored for years in Whitman folders looked like this - but minus the TRON Disk rim. The OBVs were still great and the REVs had all lost their luster.

Looks like they are not AT. Just wondering though, would it make sense to rinse them in some acetone to stop any further toning or just leave them alone?

I'd try to find out how they were originally stored then reverse it so you can tone the obverse too. Neat look.

I like the term 'Tron Disk.'. Very clever.

My guess, that they were in a oak or wooden case.
