Once I saw on TV there was a show called Coin Collectors. I set up a reminder although I don't remember the description. Once it was finally on, so I decided to go to it.. I began to get worried once I saw the last pit of the show before it. It seem to be a person holding up items and prices. Once I realized 'Coin Collector' was a home shopping channel, with their own grading services, so not a reputable one, with annoying prices. I tried and tried to leave the channel, finally, when I did, I quickly got to another channel so if I pressed 'last' I wouldn't be stuck on a home shopping channel.
So it began as a mystery, and excitement. Once it was a home shopping channel, I got mad. Has this ever happened to you? I feel bad for people who order from those, as it seems that they rip you off.

My advice, leave those shows where you found them. They are the farthest thing from knowledgeable, and prey on the uninformed

I agree also... One of my friends, god bless him, was just trying to help and told me to watch one of those shows saying they had "great deals", he even copied info on specific coins he'd seen at my house down for me on paper.... Thank god the only money he cares about is his paycheck because he'd be taken for a ride! Lol.

I would really like to see someone break into their offices and just say on screen, "DO NOT ORDER FROM US, WE RIP YOU OFF!"

if you can stand to watch it long enough it is kind of entertaining to hear them go on and on and on about whatever "awesome deal" they are trying to unload on people that week...sad part is people are buying it

I have seen some decent deals on the Coin Show, buy they're few and far between. I've never bought anything from them, and I never will. But sometimes they slip through the cracks...

09-12 Sacagewea P-D-S dollars were on about a week ago. In their $50 display case they were $99!! Yikes!! I wouldn't mind having a set of them but at about 1 tenth of that price! Huuuge rip off!

Quote: They are the farthest thing from knowledgeable, and prey on the uninformed On the contrary, I think they " are " knowledgeable, that is how they prey on the uninformed. My favorite is when he points to a coin in a proof set and then refers to his " leading national numismatic catalog " and quotes the price for a similar MS 70 coin.

I too think many of those are fun to watch. And yes it is a shame on how many people buy that stuff. Not just coins, but if you watch enough TV, you would see all kinds of STUFF someone is selling that is almost a joke at times. Those coin shows are sort of dedicated to the general public and they do work or they wouldn't be on so much.
