Hi all,
I have been looking at usual places (ebay/NGC) for current market prices for the below two crowns without much luck. I couldn't find a matching listing for Napoleon 5 francs and the listing I could find for 5 bolivars was for a very poor condition coin off ebay.
Any feedback greatly appreciated.

1811 Napolean 5 Francs - AN XI type
weight 24.92g and my guesstimate is VF

1910 5 Bolivers

Your Napolean 5 Francs is listed in the Standard Catalog of World Coins as KM# 650.1. There are two variations. Yours is the more common based on the dots flanking the privy mark, (the cock). The privy mark denotes it was minted at the Central Mint in Paris. By your grading it is roughly $150. Not good with pictures, sorry.

The 1910 5 Bolivares is Y#24.2. There are also two variations of it. One with a more round "O," the other more oval. Can't tell which you have from the picture. By your grading $85 to $100.

Hopefully someone can give you more info.

garyo1954, for this coin, no known varieties exist. Although Krause actually gives 2 variants for this coin, the leading french coin catalogs (Gadoury and LeFranc) do not mention these variants. Catalog prices in VF for these catalogs vary between 200 and 300 euro's and that is substantially more than the Krause values!

The 5 Francs does not quite make VF, perhaps 'nearly VF'
At auction it would get a higher realised price in Europe than in the U.S.
It's a bit like American muscle cars realising a higher price in the U.S. home market than Europe.
More potential buyers in the home market, I guess.

Jupke, those are interesting points to which I have no explanation. I had to go back and double check what I was seeing.

In this case, it would seem wise to defer to Gadoury and LeFranc.
Thank you sir, for shedding more light on this coin.

Thank you all for the comments, this is very helpful. On 5 Francs I see definitely two dots and the 0 on 5 Boliver is oval. I agree with sel_691 that the 5 Francs may not be VF , I just cant seem to get a better photo from my Celestron.

Also it seems that l3 franc has a online information available as well. One more question, so AN XI is equivalent to 1803 based on the french revolutionary calendar ?

Thanks again !
