The top figure is Marianne (seen on many Franc coins) and the bottom one is Britannia. Report this Post to the Staff

For British collectors, used to medal rotation, Britannia would be right way up. For French collectors, used to coin rotation, Marianne. So the answer to your question is "both"! The theme of the coin does make a nice change... the 100th anniversary of a peace treaty between two countries which had been at war on-and-off for centuries. augsburger Pillar of the Community Germany 1064 Posts	Posted 04/18/2007 08:36 am This particular coin did not go down to well when it came out, Marianne seems to be carry a club, may be trying to beat up britannian or something like that.
