Me and a friend took a risk and bought these raw, we sent them to PCGS for grading (& authentication) and I'm sure you can imagine the relief for both of us when they came back slabbed today!! . Yup... Today was a good day...

One was obviously scratched, the other the cleaning was a bit of a surprise, I had suspicions but wasn't sure, but being that they were both legit it doesn't matter as we bought them to sell anyways!! I was just happy that they weren't counterfeit

One graded VF derails scratched or tooling
The other VF details cleaned

So there going on ebay and Craigslist early next week, maybe I'll put them on here too, I'm jut not sure how that works. If I put them as "pocket them now" do I need to leave them posted for a certain amount of time? For instance if I post them here and the next day someone on Craigslist buys one can I remove the add here? Or do I have to leave it up for a set amount of time? Do you think anyone in our family would be interested in buying them, or should I stick to ebay and Craigslist?

My next question is being that they received details grades how does that effect the price/value? Honestly what should I ask for each?

These are the best pics I could take in the slabs... Sorry.. But I just really want to know how much to sell them for, being they both has details grades? I figured even though damaged/cleaned they would be great for someone who couldn't afford a super one.. Like myself... Lol.
So any and all opinions on what I should ask would be greatly appreciated as I have no idea due to the details grade!? And do you think PCGS was right? Thanks in advance everyone!! Sorry for the long post, just excited!

The cleaning on the first one is obvious - the irregular color - especially on the reverse - is a dead giveaway. As regards the second, the odd pattern of wear makes me think it was bent and restraightened on a line between the O in OF and the E in ONE. "VF Details" is, IMO, a bit generous for that one.

I wouldn't take less than $800 for the Cleaned one. The Damaged is more problematic; an experienced collector might consider its' appearance inappropriate for the value indicated by the label. $650-700 maybe?

Thank you so much SsuperDdave! I was surprisingly thinking the same, I was going to ask $850-$900 for the cleaned one and $650-$700 for the damaged one...
The reverse color of both is actually a lot closer in color to the obverse, but I took many pics and those happened to be the ones I chose, I should have picked matching ones.
But I can definitely see what you mean, it looks blotchy. I'm still pretty new to grading, let alone telling cleanings etc.. But due to all the help here I'm definitely getting better!
Your right, a bend would make sense! I never even thought of that! Thanks, I was wondering what that could be! And I also agree, the cleaned one I'd estimated at VF, the scratched one was a surprise when it came home, I didn't think it would get VF..
What do you think my best bet in selling these would be? ebay? Here? Craigslist?

I completely agree with dave.

The first one is actually pretty decent. Yes, it has been cleaned, but if you can get past that (and most could for this date) then there is nothing offensive about it at all. It would fetch a pretty penny.

The second one is obviously overgraded if you ask me. I'm not sure if I've ever seen a PCGS slab that said "Damage OR tooled". I don't like that coin that much. I'm not sure if I'd pay even 650 for it.

Dave said it perfectly. The first one isn't bad and I would add it to my own collection. Congrats! The 2nd one, I am at a loss for words...

I agree, I definitely didn't think the 2nd one would get a VF & I don't like it much either.. But for what we paid it was still an ok buy being that they're for resale.
And I have also never seen a PCGS slab saying "damage or tooling"... But it's definitely a real slab... And I guess just because I haven't seen one doesn't mean they don't exist, but then again there's still quite a bit in the Coin World I've yet to see.. (I'm not implying you thought it was fake, just saying I've never seen one either)
I'll post where I put them up for sale in case anyone might be interested, I'd rather help out one of our family than sell them on the bay or Craigslist..
