I've been putting this off for quite some time, but finally got off the snide yesterday and sent off a dozen VAMs to ANACS for grading and attribution confirmation. Here's the list:

1878 S VAM 111 (Top 100, one of three known)
1878 S VAM 77 (Top 100, very few known)
1878 S VAM 18A
1878 S VAM 57 long nock
1878 8TF VAM 14.5
1878 8TF VAM 14.13 (2)
1878 8TF VAM 14.15
1878 7TF VAM 116A (Rarest stage of the 116)
1880 P VAM 45B (Very Rare)
1878 7TF VAM 100-2 (NGC 63 unattributed)
1878 7TF VAM 100-2 (NGC 64 unattributed)-Might be Top Pop.

I had to use the 2-day service level for the VAM 111 due to value and the 15-day level for the others. Attribution confirmation adds another 15 days so I probably won't know results until at least mid-February.

I chose ANACS over PCGS because PCGS won't attribute the 1878 S VAM 111 and the 1880 VAM 45B. I'll share results when they come in. Wish me luck!

Impressive batch of cherry picking. I use ANACS numerous times also for basically the same reason. Congrats on the picks. Noel

The Vam-111 and 77 are both rare Nice coins! PCGS lost a Top Graded to NGC and if you send anything on the slow boat please keep in mind.

IF SENDING THEM IN ON THE SLOW BOAT

That the Guy in the boat has "NO SAIL" and with the mass of coins that came in before the price increase hit and being a grader down. They grabbed the guys Paddle as well!! You would get the coins back after attribution just in time for The FUN Show.... as in Winter FUN not summer.

JR over at ANACS is great anyway good choice.

That's why ANACS is the only place to send Morgans. What JR says it is, it is. Maybe ANACS can persuade Mr. Baumgart to join the team....

JR is Da Man. Met him at FUN in 2011 hanging around Logan's table. I had the 1878 VAM 123 I had just picked on ebay in my pocket. It took him a milisecond to nail it. To say he was "absorbed" in Vams would be a large understatement.

I'm impressed with the speed at ANACs. The second order is complete and was given to Fedex on Friday and I'll receive it this aftenoon. Here are the results:

1878-S $ VAM-77 DDO HOT 50 VF25 DETAILS
1878 $ 8 TF VAM-14.13 AU50 DETAILS
1878 $ 8 TF VAM-14.13 VF20 DETAILS
1878 $ 7 TF VAM-116A HITLIST40 AU58 DETAILS
1878 $ 8 TF VAM-14.15 VF35
1878-S $ VAM-18A AU55
1880 $ VAM-45B AU50
1878-S $ VAM-26 LONG NOCK TOP 100 EF40
1878 $ 8 TF VAM-14.5 HOT 50 F12
1878 $ 7 TF VAM-100-2 TOP 100 MS63
1878 $ 7 TF VAM-100-2 TOP 100 MS64

I reported earlier that the 1878-S VAM 111 came back EF40.

I'm pleased overall with the order, though a bit disappointed with both 14.13's getting details grades. I will need to look at the holders to see what the problems were.

Still a great group the V111 is a killer in that grade! I have way to many out currently and the waiting is killing me as well.

Good deal! Maybe they have gotten over putting a "Cleaned" designation on a lot of MS coins like I have seen from them over the last 3 years.
