Moved to World Coins since this is a Chinese coin rather than a token/medal. - Mod Fred

Definitely Chinese cash. There are some websites to help you decipher the Chinese characters. I've got a couple of those.
By the way, those are used as religious amulets, strung together on a ribbon.

It's a Chinese cash coin, of the Ch'ien Lung emperor (spelled "Qian Long" in the modern Chinese fashion), who ruled 1736-1795. The coins are undated, but ought to have a mintmark on the other side. 24 mintmarks are recorded for this emperor.

Here's a link showing some of these coins.

Apparently I have missplaced the coin. When I find it I will post new pics. Thanks for the comments.
And Sap, you never cease to amaze me with your knowledge!!

Thanks for that link Sap.

Edix which sites do you use to gather information on Chinese characters? I have several items that are not coins that I would like to be able to translate to english.

I haven't bookmarked any sites, but the best one I've seen is the link by Sap. I just recently did a search on "Chinese cash" and found a small number of informative sites.
