yea for me I am mainly looking for one that can tell the difference in tenths, looking to seperate a bunch of 1982 zinc and copper pennies, and I have heard the fastest way is weight rather than the drop test

IMHO - weighing is best way to distinguish zinc from copper cents. And a scale can help check other coins, too

That has been mentioned many times in the past also. Not sure how to link to those though. But for that purpose simply use the popsicle and pencil method. Balance the stick on a pencil, add a drop of glue to secure. Now put a pre 82 Cent on the far end of the stick. Any coins you put on the other side will make it balance if Copper. If not all Copper, it will just not move.

I just bought this one.

It does a good job with the 82 pennies. It also works well with halves. I have had it about a week and am very happy with it so far. Only time will tell if it will last. But for less than $7 and free shipping, you can't go wrong.

I bought a small scale at a Harbor Freight tool store. Measures in hundredths of a gram and was perfect for the '82 series and weight differences between the clad and silver Eisenhower's.

$10 or less. Works well and easy. Great buy. If you can find a Harbor Freight I highly recommend.
