I'm trying to look up pics of a 1883 Liberty nickel w/cents MS64 cert#13555175. Without any luck. I have found pics of other graded coins. But, I can't seem to find this one. Am I missing something or doing something wrong? Thank You in Advance.

Vinnie, Your too much. The seller is willing to negotiate price rather than me returning it. But,I want to have all my ducks in a row before I make the offer. I thought PCGS had on line pics of the coins that pass through there. But, all I have been able to find are 4 or 5 MS66 & 1 FR02.

Yes, I did get that far. And yes no pics. I guess I'll post some pics & get the opinions of the Family here. You can find pics here; https://goccf.com/t/140015

Most PCGS coins are not imaged at the time they are encapsulated. Only recently, with the introduction of the "Secure Plus" service, are more of the PCGS coins being imaged to assist in confirming the coin you have is the one PCGS graded (authentication reasons).
In the past, PCGS would also image coins for two other reasons. First, if it was an extremely high grade example of a coin with exceptional eye appeal, they would professionally image the coin at no cost to you for inclusion in their "CoinFacts" resource pages. The second case is when you would hire them to image your coins (called PCGS TrueView). The for-hire images were around $20 per coin, and would also then show up in the Certification Verification page when the coin was queried. I hope this helps.

brg5658, Thank You for that info. It definitely helps. I will be in touch with PCGS on Monday.

It looks like a dandy from the ebay images! I have seen that if the coin has had a previous Major Auction listing in it's past PCGS will list the links at the bottom and sometimes there are some fantastic images of the coin. I have heard the same thing that brg5658 said about certain conditions. I wish that they would do the same as NGC (although they do not image every coin they grade).

My gut tells me that PCGS images every coin they get above some minimal value level, whether they tell you they have or not. I know for sure that, given the one-time effort to rig the appropriate system and lighting, I could easily raw-image more than 100 coins an hour. With a Live View setup on a decent monitor, there's nothing stopping you from varying only exposure and getting the first shot right every time.
Then you only postprocess the ones you wish, after the fact, and just archive everything else raw against the day you might need them.

I believe that PCGS takes the images of the coins RAW before they get slabbed. NGC takes the images after it is slabbed.
