Hard with the pics but it looks like it would go AG3 maybe G4. $45.50 is about FMV. OK deal not great but you did not get taken either...imo

Based on what I see, I'd say it's a G-4. Better photo's would help but it looks like the lettering on the front is separated from the rim and complete.

1872's were usually struck with weak dates. This one, at this grade level, has a fairly bold one.
If $45 is what you paid, you did fine :-)

Looks G4 from the pics. Check to see if it's the "Shallow 'N'" variety, much more scarce than the bold "N." It looks like it might be, but I can't tell for sure from the pictures.
