Can I see the reverse of the 1835? Looks to be a hard times token perhaps?

Um....you're a collector, all right. May I assume there's a "D" on the reverse of that 1911? If you'd like, start a thread in our Photography Forum, listing your camera type and your imaging method. We'd be happy to help you tweak your results.

No reverse D on that eagle unfortunately. Thank you for the photography forum suggestion!

A nice variety of coins, I really enjoy $10 Indians and still am looking for an acceptable 20 cent piece.

Thanks for all the positive comments. This represents about 1/10th of the overall collection. I actually was heavy into firearms, and I transitioned into numismatics as both a history buff and an investment seeker.

Nice coins you got! But why didn't you put the dates on the holders? I just asking -_-

Great Question. So about 10 years ago or so I labeled all of my coins. I had a VF 1857 Flying Eagle, at the time probably only worth $25.00 or so. I wrote out the year, and condition in the corner with a black marker. Thinking nothing of it I stored the coin away. Three weeks later, I pulled it out, and found the black ink had not only secreted through the paper, it got behind the mylar and found a home on the coin itself staining it. Still to this day I have no idea how the ink carried that deep, or found an opening but it did. After that, I never wrote on or labeled a holder again.

I never use felt markers, I'm a lefty and I always smear it.
