i said it was fake purely due to the lack of wear because if it was real that would be one of the better ones

Mr Unicorn, is that the best image you can present?

Must be a reason for that!

First of all, thank you to all who read the poll.
The read count stands at 169 as I write this.

Secondly, thanks to all who voted. With 65% in agreement with me that this fake. (Not even an altered date fake at that).

Thirdly, thanks to those who have made comments on the post. Totally agree that it's a chinese copy.

Earlier in the week, I started a topic relating to this coin, except I pointed everyone to the item on ebay asking if anyone else thought it was a fake. To me the 9 and the 3 were a dead give away.

153 people read that post and not one person replied. So I thought I must have trod on someone's toes. So I canned it.

The item for sale sold tonight, obviously the buyer thought the accompanying coins must have been legit considering the price the lot went for.

Sulla, I hope you now see the reason why I could not get a better picture.

It had been bugging me all week, as I had said in my original post what my thoughts were ... fake .... (and that my eyes aren't that good) hence wanting some other's opinions.

PS: I reported it after canning my original post.

Following on, I still consider my first post on this topic appropriate.

https://goccf.com/t/137950

Yes, this same person, who I see constantly listing 34/35's and 1932's along with 1925's and 1946's.
Again, no aspersions, people can make up their own mind.

(Unfortunately the pics posted of the constantly listed items above are often not clear enough for me to form a firm opinion, but this 1930 was).

Could be all legit , he may have a hoard, or buy estates, bulk etc. Some, even the majority, of his listings don't cause me any concern, but this one certainly did and someone who trades with quantities such as this would generally know s... from clay.

Some sellers will try anything on Unicorn, this guy has in the paste tried to sell ordinary business strike coins as proofs

Personally I would'nt even contemplate bidding on anything they list but other than that what can you really do ?

Yeah I know , thanks for the support though appleangel.

I suppose ít's better to have tried and failed that not to have tried at all.

Perhaps I'll stick to poor humour posts.
