I have been ordering 4 to 8 boxes of pennies per week per bank and from time to time I get whole boxes of nice shinny new pennies which do me no good whatsoever. I hate to just open them all up and dump them, anyone have a good idea for their use?

If you have no interest in looking through them for errors/varieties or high grades then try selling them by the roll or by the box to coin shops or even Craigslist.

If I get one at the bank, I just explain that I collect coins and ask for a different box. I get some odd looks, but they are usually more than happy to get rid of a box of pennies.

If it was a solid box of 2012's I would keep them...you never know when they are going to stop making cents!

Brand new boxes of cents can usually be sold for at around $40 on ebay, usually string and sons boxes sell for more than brinks because you can easily tell the string and sons box contains brand new cents before opening it, while brinks boxes need to be opened to see whats inside

I may try ebay, I use to sell a bunch on there 10 years ago, actually for 3 years it was our only income and we did very very good, the fees just kill me.
