I found this dime going through some old coins. I gather it is a rare coin, but what worries me is the conidtion. What do you think of it?

If I were you, I'd keep it, but if you're not into those and there are toher things you could spend the money on, sell. Not a pro on the investment part of it (although I'm trying), but maybe this could help?

If I do keep it which I think I would. Is it worth having it graded or just get a coin holder and put it in a safe place?

Its not a high enough grade coin to bother IMO, but some people insist of having every coin they own thats worth more than $50 graded and certified. Unless you want it slabbed, I wouldn't bother - mainly just because of the cost of grading.

Seal4913, I would agree with noahs-numismatics. This is the one coin in VG range I lack finishing up my Barber dime set. With the exception of the 1895O(still not real bad) this is a rather inexpensive set to put togather in low grade. Of course that is not even considering the 1894S.Think Mega Lottery win. regards coffeecup57

Nice find there. Definitely worth keeping. If you really wanted it graded, sending it to ANACS would not be terribly expensive. If you chose not to do that, a cardboard 2x2 is sufficient.

Great find! It is a nice AG-3. Not valuable enough to be worth getting certified, IMO.
