I found this penny several weeks ago. A line under the letter R in LIBERTY. My first find in an older penny.

nice find, I assume from the previous post that these aren't worth a premium?

for someone who collects anomolous coins ,, especially the BIE collectors ,, a coin like this may bring .50 to 1.00.

Now based on the face value of the coin thats not a bad premium !!

I have quite a few that exhibit die chips/cracks/filled letters etc. around and in the liberty I like them just because !! not because they are extremely valuable .

I would like to find a twin to thingee's cent,, that is one I do not have ,,but by seeing it I now know about it and can be watching for one .

Wow, nice find! I agree with Metalman, looks like a die chip. But still a nice find.

Hi Rick
Since I don't collect these and because you were the first to show interest in this CENT (gotcha Gary) I will send it to you. I've lost your address so please email me and give it to me once again.

That coin is not a die chip, as would be a BIE cent. The BIE cent raised areas have very sharp edges. This is a smooth hump...obviously not a die break of any kind.

Looks much more like a die dent to me, haven't seen one like it.
