Mindsets wrote: "...its easy to tell an ATB from the rest without even seeing the reverse because the obverses have a unique feature to them..." I wasn't aware of any difference between the obverse of the ATB and that of the State Quarters. What is the difference? I must agree with all the ATB lovers here. I think they have the best designs I have ever seen on any American coin, plus the lower mintages make them all that much more desirable. Haven't found any up here in Canada yet, but I picked up 5 different ones last summer on vacation in Montana and Wyoming, as well as a 2009D Northern Marianas quarter. I'm hoping there's lots in Texas, as I'll be there for a week and a half in March, watching my change! If you love to collect them and it brings you fulfillment, you're not wasting your time! Go for it! Also, how do you quote another post on the board? I couldn't figure it out when I started this post.

They have a different texture than the statehood and others. I guess its the texture cause idk what else to call it. But if you look at an ATB and a statehood side by side, you should notice their obverses are slightly different... So when I'm CRH, its easy for me to tell an ATB obverse frOm others.

It is funny how the ATB Quarters don,t travel though. Since we started collecting them from pocket change two years ago, we have come across only two Denver coins here in the northeast. There are members here who live on the west coast who hjave still not seen a Phila. coin. Check the faqs for all you need to know about posting, short version is, copy and paste the quote and then encase as so [quote] paste here[/quote put a bracket at the end of /quote to complete the action

EXCUSE me. Why is Perry's Victory in OHIO? (I know, I know . . . PA already got our coin . . . but dangit IT WAS THE BATTLE OF LAKE ERIE AND IT WAS FOUGHT OUT OF ERIE, PENNSYLVANIA! *stubborn*) As for the original question, mindsets, if you love it, go for it. I hoard ATB for those who cannot find them, sharing them out and perhaps someday having a beautiful hoard of them that will go for several times face as, as other people have noted, people try to complete their sets in 2021. Am I counting on it? Nah. Will I spend 'em as the years go by? Don't hold your breath--if nothing else, they will be a fascinating conversation piece for my nieces long after I'm gone. "Can you believe she pulled these out of her CASH REGISTER? You never see them in circulation anymore. She used to save them because she had friends trying to make whole sets of them back when they were coming out and nobody could find them, and just got in the habit, I guess."

I went to a laundry shop and got $20 change in quarters. Out of 80 quarters, one 2011D Chickasaw, one 2010P Hot spring, one 2010P Yosemite. It is scarce but not rare.

Just throwing this out there. Both yosemite and chickasaw are the two ATB Quarters I and most people probably have the MOST of. I find those two all the time. Idk why.

2011 Chickasaw has total mintage of 143millions, at least two times over other 2011 ATB Quarters. It is normal that you see them frequently. But Yosemite has similar amount of mintage, compared to other 2010 ATB Quarters.

Thank you Hollywood. I order a three roll set and several S white mountain rolls. I am new to US coin collecting and have been doing it for about a month now. I find that collecting is a expensive hobby and hope that I could sell some of those S rolls later to fund other coins I like. I really like lincoln pennies and try to finish a set from 1909 to present from circulation, at least not the keys. I has not found any key or semi-key dates yet. I am not saying that I do not like ATB Quarters. In fact, they are quite attractive to me and I keep 1 mint roll of each.

Denali followed closely by Hawaii Volcanoes is what I find most of here on the west coast. Found one Philly and that's it.
* the one thing I would change about them is to put them on a half dollar planchet.

I buy a roll of quarters here and there and that's how I get mine. Any big box store, sometimes get some rolls at banks.
