I put all of my pocket change, after I quickly scan for silver, into a mason jar. I am at the point now that I have them sorted into different denominations. I was going to start going through some of these for varieties and such. I want to start with the quarters. I know very little on what I should look for because this is not my speicalty. I know that in 1982-1983 higher grades are worth keeping becuase of no mint sets. I know that pre 1964 have silver content and so forth. My question is what to look for in modern quarters before I let them go back into the coinstar machine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone.

i always look at the early clad years for varieties
1965 DDO,DDR 1966 DDO 1968 DDO 1970D DDO,DDR 1971DDR 1976D DDO
plus any reverse rotations

i throw all these year in a bag and look through them when I get enough of them
with my CherryPickers Guide book and loupe

i would guess with the number of posts you have Stud722 you've probably have heard of these
features I've mentioned ?

OddCoins, Stud is talking about US quarters, so the 1991 is not very rare (571M Philly and 631M Denver).

I agree with John1, keep the 2009s and ATBs. The mintages were drastically reduced from 2009 onward compared to the State Quarters.

Alright all good things to know. I was not aware of the 2009 low mintage. Snowman24, I am always looking for DDO and DDR just incase. I appreciate everyone's input.
