Don't think it's legit because if it were the hole would be on the bottom of the eagle instead of above it unless it has a 180 degree rotation. And it looks to soft and grainy so I'm going to have to say a cast... Sorry :(

This is an odd fake. Medallion orientation? One troy ounce? If it was not for for the hole I would pay $20.

I wouldn't consider that a fake. Fakes are meant to decieve. That is obviously not the size of a quarter so maybe it's a replica.

I honestly cannot tell if the OP attempted to use sarcasm with these posts. The first post seems somewhat genuine, but the coin in question isn't even the size of a quarter. I agree with George, this is so bad, it might not even have been meant to deceive. People joke about things looking like it was made in a garage, but this one literally may have been made in a garage.
This may actually have been a contemporary fake because people haven't holed quarters (or any coins) to put onto jewelry for a very long time. Problem is, since there doesn't appear to be an attempt to make it look real, it would miss the contemporary fake market.
I'm afraid this coin is worth zero dollars as a collectable. Not sure it's silver either, so who knows it's value as a metal

Guess you could put it on a chain and wear it.

IndianGoldEagle,
It would need to be worn with an unbuttoned shirt. A real chick magnet.

It sure sounds and feels like silver, and its exactly the same weight as a silver eagle and slightly thicker but a tiny bit smaller in diameter... so that makes sense. You're right about it possibly having been made in a garage... or maybe a high school art class. It looks like someone made a cast of the front and back and somehow sandwiched them together. It is definitely not meant to deceive anyone.
All I need to do is hang this on a gold chain in a thick nest of chest hair and I could be the king of the rainbow room. LOL
