I have a quick question... I am thinking about getting back into CRH, specifically half dollars, and I was wondering if anyone knows the JFK silver prospects in the Chicago area?

Also, does anyone know which bank chains produce the best results?

Thanks!! Happy Searching!

Silver Searcher - there are 3 sure things in life - death, taxes, and coin roll hunters not revealing their good sources! Best of luck. Try a few different banks that are at least 20 miles apart.

There really is no rhyme or reason to finds in roll hunting, there's really no "special" bank that produces better than others. It's all in the luck of the draw. Good luck.

Roll hunting since '77
Dirt fishing since '72

Silver Searcher,
Fistfulladirt is correct, as usual. I'll add this bit. When you're going through coin, there are different things you start to pick up on. Certain crhers will mark coins. My brinks rolls obviously come from two different machines. You can tell by how the paper roll looks, and how tight they are. You'll start to pick up on some little clues and sometimes tell you when you're in the beginning of someone's massive dump but it changes constantly. If a Chicago crher has something that's hot right now, it will likely change before you get a piece of it anyway. You just have to jump in. No matter the denomination, you need to look through at least 500 rolls before even beginning to access if it is good or bad. Some perspective: my best box netted me 45 oz of silver. That same bank put me on a dry run of ~ 2300 rolls without a single 40% silver. Fortunately, the 45 oz box came before the 2500 rolls. Otherwise, I wouldn't have kept it up. Good luck.

The only thing that could make a bank predictably "bad" is loads of other searchers that frequent the place. That doesn't mean stop trying though! I have gotten silver from teller trays even at banks that get ransacked with searchers.
