On the RCM website it says that the O'Canada series 1rst coin is 76% Sold then I check the subscription and it also says 76% Sold so what does that mean?

It means that 76% of them are sold.
Seriously, there are 40,000 of these coins in total, whether purchased in the subscription or not. The 76% would be made up of the combination of subscription and individual coin sales.
Edited to refer to the 1/2 oz Oh Canada Series.

I'm actually surprised that they have sold 30k of these O Canada subscriptions and coins. It's not that they are bad designs or bad value, just that it is a relatively high mintage especially for a 12 coin set.

I agree with CC-Ottawa. I don't think that the value of the sets are very high due to the fact that none contain silver and are quite common. Maybe they will become more expensive if this set has less mintage than the others.

Confusing the O Canada 1/2oz set (silver) with the O Canada Gift set (base metal)? Three different items called O Canada. RCM running out of names? And why isn't it Oh Canada?

O Canada would be the more appropriate term, isn't that the spelling within the national anthem?

Quote: O Canada would be the more appropriate term, isn't that the spelling within the national anthem? "Oh" is an interjection used to express a range of emotions, including pain, sorrow, hesitation, and recognition. Most people will never have use for "O", which is used in poetic apostrophe, usually in classical addresses, always preceding the name of or pronoun representing the person being formally addressed. You are correct that "O Canada" is correct usage in the national anthem. The RCM has used the terms, "Oh! Canada!" and "Oh Canada!" before 2011. In 2011 the set was stylized to have the quarter form the "O" and it appears to have stuck since then. That quarter had the start of the anthem on it, which may have inspired the change.

Now it is 78% sold, so does this mean it will be harder to get #2-12 of the series if I am buying singularly from the PO instead of subcibtion to the series?

I'm sure it means that the priority will go to those that purchased the subscription from the mint. Whatever is left, will the be available to the remaining public, so you takes your chances if you don't subscribe.

Whats the general consensus with this set? I've sat on the mint site going back and forth between the 1oz and the 1/2oz sets... and then towards no set at all. Whats with all the O' Canada sets this year? 2013 the year of the 'Canadian, eh'? :)

Dunno how well we'll do getting a consensus here but I have both sets ordered. The first 1/2oz coin is quite impressive and the second should be shipped any day now (have a pre-authorization on my cc now). My first thought was that I'd wished I had know about the 1 oz before I ordered the 1/2oz - I just prefer 1 oz coins. Originally, my plan was to order the 1 oz and cancel the 1/2 oz but I may just end up with both. Definitely for me, if I had to choose, it would be the 1 oz just because of a more consistent theme amongst the coins and the larger size. You are right though; there sure are plenty of O Canada products this year.
