My rep is telling me the wooden box only comes with the 5th coin. I've heard from other people, that other reps are telling them they get the box with the second coin. So please tell me what you've heard.
Thanks
Scott

Unfortunately can't answer the question - just ordered online.
But the people, who have contacted the Mint - with which frequency these 5 coins will be sent?

From reading the mint website description, I thought that the box would come with the first coin since it states:

• When you subscribe, you receive a beautiful wooden case to display your 5 coinsâ€"FREE.
• You can cancel your subscription at any time with no obligation. The collector case will be yours to keep with our compliments.

It wouldn't make sense to state that and have it ship with the 5th and final coin.

The 1/2 oz O Canada subscription stated:

4. Wooden display box, a retail value of $50, is yours at no charge upon purchase of coin #3!

I have nothing else to go by other than hearsay from people who have spoken with mint reps and receive different answers.

One would think if they didn't specify which coin it would arrive with, then it would be the first. Maybe it ships with a later coin but if you were to subscribe and cancel after purchasing the first coin, you would still be sent the box at a later date.

nobody seem to learn from the past experiences
I bet box will be delayed and doesn't matter if it's promised with 1st or 5th coin - we'll get it _after_ last coin! ;-)

I don't care how long the box takes, I just want to know, if I cancel after the first or second coin, do I still get the box.

This is the wording used for the Group of Seven Subscription, with which the case come with the first coin.

Quote:
Special features:
• When you subscribe to the Group of Seven collection, you receive an exceptional Maple wood case for FREE.
• You can cancel your subscription at any time with no obligation. The collector case will be yours to keep with our compliments.

And this is what we have for the 1oz O Canada subscription:

Quote:
Special features:
• When you subscribe, you receive a beautiful wooden case to display your 5 coinsâ€"FREE.
• You can cancel your subscription at any time with no obligation. The collector case will be yours to keep with our compliments.

So for this subscription, if the mint is going to ship the case with the n-th coin where n>1, then they better update their product description. Setting the right level of expectation can avoid a lot of unnecessary disappointment and complaints.

You should care since you're not getting anything after subscription is cancelled. Technically it's most likely that box is an item in subscription list with $0 price.

Are you telling me, people who cancelled the group of 7 after the first coin, didn't get a box months later?

Don't think so. Mint shipped box with 1st coin AFAIR.
Rest in Peace

I received the box with my first coin in the subscription, Group of 7 - months ago. This time however, the 1st coin, Beaver, came in an envelope with the usual single cardboard container - not even a clam-shell.

Dcadon> You received the 1 oz Beaver subscription coin already? I thought these weren't shipping until Feb 12.

Just received RCM's printed "Impressions" catalogue in mail.
It clearly says: "you'll receive this luxorious case free with your first coin".
Also, release dates:
- polar bear : April
- wolf : June
- Caribou : August
- Orca : October
