I have recently become intrigued with the Philippine coins minted when they were under protection from the U.S. and bear the United States of America on them. What would I call these if I were to search them, and are there other protectorates of the U.S. that minted coins with the U.S. on them? All I could come up with for now was "philippine american coins"

You should be able to just research them as any other Philippine coin. Here's the years under US control:

I believe American collectors call them "US-Philippines" or "US-PI". Although simply searching for "Philippines" coins from the time period in question should find them too.

And no, the Philippines were the only "American colony" that issued its own "colonial" coinage. Although the coinage of Liberia, formerly an American colony, often bears a strong similarity to US coinage.
