I am looking at stepping out into some more U.S. coins. I have been working on a type set and have been mostly buying some nicer affordable coins.

I have a SBA dollar but am wanting to get one of the wide rim variations. It looks like MS67 is the highest one in the population reports. It is also pretty high so I was looking at getting one graded MS66.

Is it worth it for this type or should I just get an ungraded one? I don't mix the hobby with the investment side but I was wondering if it would likely hold value.

A very common coin, but I would think at that grade you should be ok pulling the trigger. I see 90s Washington quarters at MS 66 and they seem to hold their premium pretty well over a 63 or 64.

I find it much more satisfying to order a box of dollars and search for one, myself, as you don't need to go further than a box or two to find one.

But then that depends on how you get your satisfaction from the hobby. :-)

Not sure about holding its value, sadly.

I'm with Steve as far as finding one in a roll. There are some nice ones out there. Maybe not a 66 though
