Had this one for years and I almost tossed it out thinking it was a piece of scrap metal. I think it is Indian but not sure. It appears siver and is 8 mm in size. Any ideas?

Amirs of Sind, ca. 870-1009 AD. Looks like Ahmad. AR Dirhem.
BTW the photos are upside down.

It's poorly engraved arabic script, look for the base of the letters to tell which way is up :)

The link above is to an AV Fanam, from a very different part of India and several hundred years removed. The Sindhi Amirs were in what is today NW India (north of Mumbai), eastern Pakistan and SE Afghanistan (sort of a straight line north to south), different slightly from the modern Sindh. The Fanam you linked to is from the southern tip of India.
