I am assuming they want to cash in on the copper, and that is why they are not letting them circulate. Is this true?

So I've heard. I've also heard that they're going to withdraw all the older nickel coins as well, and just leave the new plated coins to circulate. If that's true, then it would behoove us all to start grabbing up the other denominations as well. It's all part of their plan called "alloy reclamation", to take all the semi-precious metal out of circulation and leave all the crap behind for us to use.
