War Nickels are the only silver I've ever found, I gave up on quarters after close to 2000 searched and not a single silver one

D'oh. I voted too fast. I voted for dimes but it's #2 and half dollars are #1.

The thing with half dollars is you won't often see one but when you do there can be several or many.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

Here in Central NJ, I have yet to go through a box of nickels without finding at least one War Nickel, so nickels are the way to go per each.

Every 1 or 2 boxes of halves has a silver half. This is getting worse, however, as there's now someone going through 50k in halves a week down in Cape May and marking them with powdery spray paint, ruining it for everyone else.
Every 2 or 3 boxes of dimes has a silver dime.
Every 4 or 5 boxes of quarters has a silver quarter.

I voted for Nickels, as that has been my experience. I am averaging a little over one silver nickel per box, while my average is less that one 40% half every two boxes. Dimes might be close to Nickels, but I refuse to sort dimes as they are too small to read the dates and the requirement in my area of rerolling them is a huge pain.

As an extra plus for Nickels, there is always an off chance for a Buffalo or rare V nickel find.

Thanks to everyone who voted and commented I thus far have had the most success with Nickels as well. However I expected dimes to be the most popular.

I agree Monks at least the dimes have been consistant, at least for me, over the last five years.
