You versus NGC... eventually. I am thinking of sending this one in. What do you think it will get?

Thanks

I think it would top out at MS63, maybe 64 on a good day. Keep your money in your pocket and put it towards another coin. Unless you have a desirable VAM or high grade/ PL or DMPL there will not be a return on your investment to have it slabbed. Some may have a different opinion though.

For an '81-S, I don't think it's worth sending into NGC. I'm thinking MS 64 tops, but there are some lines on the obverse that make it look like there was maybe a light cleaning done? Would it be considered a 'cleaning' if someone ran a rag over it once - I suppose it would be by NGC/PCGS.

Somethings not right with this coin, improperly cleaned or polished, just a gut feeling by the view of it.
