LeAnn, good idea about a way of getting the kids interested in the hobby. I'm trying the Ocean Series with mine (10 & 12 year old girls). They liked the movie finding Nemo. Next years coin will be the year of the Rat. The RAM have rejected my design This site is worth having a look at. It covers all the known Calendars in the world and gives an explanation on each. http://webexhibits.org/calendars/ca...chinese.htmlMany different calendars have been developed over the millennia to help people organize their lives. According to a recent estimate, there are about forty calendars used in the world today, particularly for determining religious dates. Most modern countries use the Gregorian calendar (see the Year) for their official activities. Westerners should keep in mind that there are indeed several calendars actively in use. For example, here are 11 public holidays in Singapore: New Year's Day (January 1) Chinese New Year and day after. Good Friday Labor Day (May 1) Vesak Day National Day (August 9) Deepavali Christmas (December 25) Hari Raya Puasa Hari Raya Haji These include three secular holidays, New Year's Day, Labor Day and National Day, and eight religious/racial holidays: Two Chinese, two Islamic, two Indian and two Christian. Christmas falls on a fixed date in the Gregorian calendar, but the other seven traditional holiday are movable.

[triggersmob... I am so glad you posted these images. I have been wondering how large these are in hand. I am familiar with the 1oz size not weight (I have the Aus. Horse) but being illiterate with 'numbers' I am lost.
Please educate me? In order of size in hand not weight. 1/2 - 1/10 - 1 kilo - 1 oz - 2oz. Which is the smallest to the largest in MM?
Thanks, mila_

Shep: Nice rat coin!! Triggermob: Thanks for looking. Oh, I also have a sewing machine to trade if you want it for your wife. Just kidding, shipping costs would kill my budget on coins. Thanks, LeAnn

Triggersmob: Was the first coin you posted, the aluminum bronze, was it minted somewhere other than perth? I have looked all over the perth site and could not find that coin. Are they in circulation or just minted as proofs? Could not find a number minted either. Does anyone know? Thanks for the help. LeAnn

Hi LeAnn, Sorry I haven't replied earlier, but I have been offline while I change ISP'S. The first coin I posted is not in circulation. As you have already found out it comes from the Royal Australian Mint. I haven't forgotten about a coin for you and now I am back online I will try Bigfella and see if he has one. I'll let you know.
