I generally only give regular coins a passing glance. I have a very small obsession with one particular series and it tends to encompass about 150% of my coin time. This year Santa has started to open my eyes to another series. It helps that its the same guy designing both. I have been home for a little over two weeks and every day I have pulled this out and looked at it. I think I have the attribution but grade? I just don't have any experience in this series. I assume its plagued by all the same problems coins of this era have. So I think maybe vf20.

Would you care to take a look and let me know the real grade and maybe confirm my thoughts on attribution?

I'm not an expert, but it looks better than VF20 to me. The shield has a lot of detail. Is that a die crack?

I'm not an expert by any means on this series but I'm certain it's better than Vf-20. The details in the shield and leaves are consistent with XF-45 IMO and the details in the stars are VF-35. I'd say a net XF-40. Interested to see how the experts see it. Nice coin with nice die crack and RPD. Marty

Very nice! All the elements I like. RPD, killer crack(s) & fully legible. I'd say it's a safe XF40.

Man that's a nice one. Coin's like this is why I go nuts over coins. I think it's XF-45.

excellent die cracks along the obverse

my first venture into coins was this series and I managed to get VF/XF on a half dozen dates

I'm no expert but i'd say this is choice VF

I'd venture this is an EF45 looks pretty nice actually. Love the RPD and die cracks.

Ooooh, nice character on the Shield nickel!

Die Cracks and RPD!

I would go along with XF40 based upon the light wear on the leaves on the obverse and the seperation on the rim/denticles on the reverse.

The Mark on the shield itself, is that a bag Mark or a die crack? Beautiful coin. I would say in the xf range easy. There is a whole lot of detail in that coin.

Hey, that one looks familiar I had it graded as VF35, a little bit too much weakness in the vertical bars for full EF.
