And I remember when you picked this fellow up! My advice would be the same as it is in a lot of these cases: Ask. Write to PCGS or NGC and say you have a coin with a demonstrable date (via bicentennial design) that is, technically, dateless and ask if this alone disqualifies it from getting a grade. Make it clear that you know there are other factors that can get it bodybagged and are not asking them to weigh those via correspondence--you are only interested in knowing whether the very clear, very obvious diagnostic outweighs the no-longer-visible actual date. It could be the photos, but I think it had some help getting into that condition. Then again, it may have spent most of its life in a casino. Too difficult to call. I would keep it for what it is, not what I wish it would be.
