Here's hoping someone here knows more about this coin than Krause, which lists it as 'Rare - Proof only' in the 6th edition.
I don't suppose this banged around and abused specimen found in an auction oddlot, might have been proof at one time?
Any info or helpful links appreciated. Thanks for peeking in.

KM# A4 British East India Company St Helena halfpenny. There is a proof version with the same KM number but yours comes out at:
F, $10.00 VF, $20.00

I recently sold this one for $10.00

I think this is a circulation issue, a bit worn, banged about and holed.

I've seen several (without holes) in the past year, in different grades.

I think one in the condition that yours is in but without the hole would sell at £7 to £10.

I suggest you put it on a chain, write a note about its history and wear it or give it for wearing.
