My local coindealer who I always go to told me there are no coin shows in ny due to taxes on coinage or something( I was busy looking around honestly). If true, where do I go? I've never been to a coin show. My dealer says he just went to the FUN(?) coin show and set up a table and it sounde pretty cool. I think that was in florida though( he really makes his money at the shows, not at his shop he said) Any coin shows close to orange county, ny?

New York City or New York State? It can make a difference.

There are shows though. Numismaster has listings of upcoming shows, and they probably don't list all of them.
http://numismaster.com/ta/inside_nu...howsCalendar

For this week and next they list four shows, one in Albany (Feb 3, sorry that ones over), one on Staten Island (Feb 9), One in Niagara Falls (Feb 9), and one in Melvile (Feb 10)

There are two more on the 17th Buffalo-Cheektowaga, and Syracuse

January has an International show in NYC. And if you live close to one of the bordering states you have possibilities in those states as well.
