It is difficult to tell the grade from the obverse picture. But I see some strong wheat details and a hint of mint luster so I'm calling it AU, but until the obverse picture is improved I will not go further.

Obviously my photo skills are subpar. I already put this coin in my Dansco album, but I will try to get a better photo. If I do I will pots it this afternoon.

Well, here are 2 more pictures of the obverse. I don't know if they will be any help, I can't get the detail or the color to come out. The original picture I posted is fairly representative of the color, mostly brown with a hint of red coming through. These pictures show a little more detail, but I couldn't get a clear shot of the cheek & jaw. Under 10x magnification I can't find any wear.

I'm more worried that the coin may be starting to show some signs of verdigris on the obverse. I do hope I'm wrong and its only a dirty patch.

If you are talking about the discoloration near the date it seems to be dirt. Not a hint of green at all under 10x magnification, but I will keep an eye on it.

That's good. Yes that was the main area as well as above TRUST. The 2 very noticeable red spots on the obverse is usually a sign of trouble on copper coins, maybe in the past and could be dead. Of course they might not have anything to do with verdigris either, fingers crossed

The pics are better.

Im going to call it AU-55 BRN ,, there appears to be slight wear on the ear, hair and rim . as well as the wheat stalks on the reverse.

the coin still has some original mint luster peeking through but I dont think it is enough to keep it in RB color.
