Okay, I have been waiting for the new $100 bill to come out since 2005 when it was orginally supposed to come out. Then they delayed it, to try to explore what other security features they could put on it. So they said that they would release the new $100 in early 2008 before the new $5 bill. Then they said they would release it in late 2008. Then they said some time in 2009. Then in 2010. Then they gave a release date in 2010, for Febuary 10, 2011, which got delayed, due to printing problems, and they said it might be released in 2012. And now they are saying this year, 2013 will be the year, yet we haven't been given the six months notice, we were told we would get, before the new $100 bill was released. If this keeps up, we many not even see these new $100 bills until 2014 or beyond. Seeing as most new currency comes out in the spring or fall, I'm betting that the new $100 bill will be released any time from September to November, but thats just my guess. I hope this happens this year anyway.

So, does anyone else here have any theories or info they want to share on when the new $100 bill may come out?

What about that story last year about the airport employee who stole a bunch of the new 100s, weren't the notes finished and on route to a Federal Reserve district bank. I'm not sure what happened after that story but it seems like they were almost out in circulation at that time. Maybe they wanted to re-do security features again after that incident.

It was only $20,000, in other words only two starps. I'm suprised the Feds noticed them missing. But they caught the guy and I believe they recovered all of the stolen bills.

The Series 2006A $100 bills which are of the old design, came out after the Feds found out about prolems with printing this design: http://assets.nydailynews.com/polop...3n-1-web.jpg

These new colorized $100 bills will be Series 2009, and there was even a rumor that some of the newer ones would be Series 2009A because of the printing problems the Feds had to address.
