So...I'm guessing this is a common practice. With 12 bidders, 25 bids and more than a day to go, there must be many that don't do their homework.

What is sad is that this seller is an active member of another forum and should know better.

What's sad is that those auctions always have like more than 20 bids on it by the end. People should know better.

The color change can sometimes be environmental and not on purpose. A very good living could be made selling fake errors and processed notes on ebay.

That's an understatement. With 19 bidders and a final bid of $171.50 for an altered bill, this seller cashed in!

$171.50 for a damaged note (WT_), someone is not going to be happy when they try and resell this.

I like (not) how the seller plays on bidder ignorance by adding that little QUESTION MARK after "error", so they can claim they believed it was real...

shame on whomever bid $171 for that bill. Truly a case of not doing one's research. If it wasn't a yellow seal that bill would sell for $30 more or less.
