The one on the far right seems to have very nice toning. Any chance of a close up pic of that one?

Quote: I don't understand people who like Morgans. I too think it's mostly popularity. Once a coin is popular, everyone wants them. That same design is one several other coins and yet seldom does anyone make that same fuss about those. Also, there is a rumor that they don't make them any more.

Quote: I don't understand people who like Morgans. Forgive him father, for he no not what he do. There is no finer coin in the world to collect, my friend. Just think of the history behind the minted years. To begin with it was the largest silver coin ever produced since the civil war. At that time there was a major silver and gold rush resulting in such a surplus of silver that congress authorized a very large coin just to utilize the excess silver from the miners of the time. In 1879 Thomas Edison created the first functioning light bulb. Or how about in 1881, the OK corral gunfight, the election of two presidents and the assassination of a president, the Red Cross was established or Billy the kid being shot down. Who is to say that one of my Morgans weren't in their pockets? How about in 1882, Jesse James was shot. Lets jump ahead a little bit. 1889, Washington, North Dakota, South Dakota and Montana became states. Can you say that about a Jefferson nickel? Lets continue, in 1890 the women's suffrage movement started and two more states were formed. Needlessly I can go on and on but I won't. The bottom line is it is simply a love of history and the artistry of what the coin represents to the collector, so you don't understand people who like Morgans. I understand why you like your preferences, maybe now you can understand mine. Have a happy day ! Now go hug a coin !
