Group of coins from the Jin Dynasty (1115-1234)
Emperor Wan Yan Liang (1149-1161)
Bronze 1 Cash

The Jin Dynasty was established in northern China by the Jurchen tribe and was in power for 120 years. Initially they formed an alliance with the Northern Song but eventually turned against their allies and defeated them in 1127. Capturing both the Emperor Qinzong and his father the former Emperor HuiZong. The remainder of the Song court fled to the south and established the Southern Song Dynasty.(1127-1279).

Thank you! Echizento. My collection is modest - but growing. I believe I have coins representing only 9 Dynasty's so I have a lot more work ahead of me!

It's great that there are still many of these coins around. A collection can be made of all the Dynasties for not too much of an expense. Though there are some that are expensive, especially the Ming dynasty.

Not sure what it is about these Chinese coins but I much prefer them looking aged with the green patina etc.

Strange as usually with Greek and Romans people want the opposite, with the Chinese I find myself ignoring the 'perfect' ones and being drawn to the crusty greens and blues.

Nice green coins aiglet7
