This is an 1835 Half Cent that I purchased. The toning of the coin is more of a dark brown than a bluish black as the picture shows. I am curious as to what you guys would think this coin is worth. Thanks

In Scottish terms, this coin is a wee ripper!
Graded at about VF30, this coin has a cat. value of about $90.
They don't often turn up at most dealers, so the dealer would sell hold off selling, at somewhere the book value.

I think XF40 is more appropriate for this coin.

It does have some small spots of green. I think this might be called PVC? How would this affect the value of the coin?

I would agree with the VF grades above. You have a Cohen-2 variety. There were two reverse dies used in 1835, yours exhibits the S and T of STATES spaced closer together than variety 1.

Nice coin.

That is interesting. Is there any difference in values between one die and another?
