When you use the Jansjo lights for photography, what about the bulb type? Do they come with bulbs already and you use them? If not, what is the best type of bulb to get for the Jansjos'? Having major trouble with the various types of bulbs I've tried in the 2 gooseneck lamps I have. Bank account is having major trouble financing my failed lighting experiments. Just can't pick up the color on toned coins. Thinking about going with the Jansjo's.

I have not had much luck with my Jansjos (perhaps it's just me). I have read that regular reflector lamps using a 5000k color temp bulb works very well. The temperature (5000K) is normally on the package.

Jansjos are pretty close to incandescent (AKA tungsten) in terms of white-balance. They work fine for toned coins for me.

Super nice photos on that merc Capt. great color blazing through. I find the Janjos adequate, quite versitle in their bendy arms - need to make a shadow target and better diffusers for mine. I'm using a couple layers of tissue over them now.

and for $20.00 a set of two is a real bargain!

ANy idea if or where one can purchase the Jansjo Lights in Canada. Is there a particular model number that works best?

You can get them at Ikea, or just order them from Amazon, although they're a bit more expensive there. There's a desk-top version with a weighted base and another that has a clamp base.
