Hi,
I've just bought this hammered coin and been told it is an Edward coin, but not sure which one.
Could anyone please help identify it.
Thanks

Clipped groat or halfgroat, missing the better part of the sovereign's name, but I think we can see the bottom of ED after the cross pattÊe at the top of the obverse. Anders' website is for Tudor coins, though, and I don't think this coin is Tudor; the Edward VI reverses are different. The groat was introduced under Edward I, but didn't really take off until Edward III's reign. No groats were minted under Edward II.
