On it's own: With the fractional set. Disappointed that the 'reverse proof' finish is not the same on the 5 oz. It doesn't look like a reverse proof at all to me. I do like the coin but the case is the oddest 'wood' I have ever seen. Think PLASTIC. And it's far from 'red'. Still, it looks OK. Edited by CC-Ottawa 02/13/2013 3:35 pm

Oh it sucks being in Alberta. Seems to take forever for any of my coins to come.

It looks like there's not much talk about this 5 oz ... But it sells pretty quickly (avail at gatewest only?)

received it today, its a nice looking coin better finish than the 5oz. penny but the box is kind of weird as mentioned earlier, a little plastic look to it.

I find it more pink then anything. At least you didn't pay 12k for the 5oz gold coin packaged in the same "red" box. =)

I'm still on the fence about this coin due to the mintage of 2500 pieces. Seems higher than most 5oz coins issued.

2500 but 1000 went to Europe, so NA market got its usual 1500.

my guess this will sell well due to its simple design copy the orginal bullion coin as did the penny. should have world appeal that the beaver, and calgary stampede designs lack.

1000 went to Europe but as you've seen with the penny sets, people in Germany will be listing them on ebay to sell back to North America.

Well, may be true. But I don't think they would be investing 400K+ without expectation of ~1000 buyers ;) Anyway. For starters, there're 10000 fractional sets out there and just 2500 matching 5oz coins. So there will be collectors with "full" set and ones with "incomplete" one. I bet there will be enough people willing to have "complete" set ;-) And there will be people who want 5 oz only.... Will see in a month or two! ;)
