It's Canada Post a dealer?

Some of the coins they sell are more expensive than the Mint's price.

Yes, CP is an RCM dealer. First on the list.

Which coins do you see CP selling for more than RCM issue price? I know of none and have seen CP sell for less on several.

I think the only coin that sells for more is the $20 for $20 at CP outlets.

Thank for the correction coin_games; I forgot that one.

Like the other dealers, they sell the 20 for 20 for more than FV because they get no dealer discount on those coins.

CC-Ottawa: (I don't find how to quote your answer)

For example this one is 25% more expensive: http://www.canadapost.ca/shop/coins...p-244024.jsf

But every post office is a dealer? All of them have the same prices? So why every post office choose their own coins? It's a bit strange for me.

Some post offices are in locations which sell more coins therefore receive more product. I know my nearest location only receives about 1 new product a month as no one buys coins from that outlet and that's what I was told from the manager there. Other manager sometimes also may not want to deal with ordering or keeping track of many products.

This is how I understand it works. Others may be able to add more or correct me.

Canada Post Corporation is the dealer via the National Philatelic Centre in Nova Scotia.

Whether you are talking about a Post Office (owned by CP) or a Postal Outlet (franchised out by CP), the local location essentially have control of what they sell but not where they buy inventory or what they charge for those products.

Virtually everything at a Post office or postal outlet comes from Canada Post Corporation and CPC sets the prices. In the case of coins, that is controlled by the Philatelic Centre.

Some POs sell coins, some don't. Some sell more than others. Managers/franchisees are paid bonuses and receive other incentives based on how much they sell. Volume is everything to them. If they don't think they can sell coins, or those incentives don't appeal to them, then they don't sell coins.

A local Postal Clerk told me every Post Office is required to carry the basic items, usually the stuff most people don't want to buy. Larger locations can pick up other items like Specimen Sets, Silver Dollars, Birds of Canada etc...

what a post office carries in coins depends on the manager of that location
the 20 for 20 sells for more than what the mint sells because it costs dealers $20 to get them (or at least too close to $20 for them to sell at issue. The usual margin for dealers is 15%. on a $20 coin that means $17, before fees incurred from shipping and distribution)

Edited for math :)

The link you provided is to one of the $20 for $20 coins referred to by coin_games. To 'quote' from a previous post, use the Reply to Topic link just above the Quick Reply box. That will open up a new window with the additional functionality such as uploading a picture, using emoticons, etc. The Quote button is the second last in the Format row. Clicking it gives you the 'quote' start and '/quote' end tags in square brackets . Then just copy and paste the text you want quoted in between the two square brackets so it looks like quote]I have inserted text here.[/quote
