Is it the coin collecting market crashing when such a big dealer as J&M Coins in Vancouver have to use Craiglist to sell the 2nd Glow in the Dark coin. They must have bought too many of them. This could be a sign sign that people hoping to see the value of NCLT products go up in price will be for a rude awaking.

Besides the glass butterflies, none of the current crop of coins will be worth more than list in a few years.

There is a lot of hype regarding certain coins like the canopy and moon mask coin but if you look at the ebay prices for those coins, you would realize none of them are doing particularly well.

I think this is more a sign of ebay failing. ebay has become to big for its own good and is becoming to greedy, case and point the new fee structure. I think this is simply a test foray into new avenues to market coins. I've tried selling in Kijiji before with little success. Places like Craig's List and Kijiji are full of bargain hunters. The first thing they do is offer you a ridiculous buying price. I don't see the coin market is crashing as much as this simply a case of over supply of one coin and a seller looking to reduce selling costs.

$35 is reasonable and yes J&M Coins are trying to keep their costs down.

Just free advertising! Plus they save on ebay fees and shipping so they can sell at a much lower price.

Here's a quote for GateWest that will work nicely...think about it.

Quote:
Oh, the flipper... Who is that, you ask? The opportunist. The person who tries to buy up all they can at the lowest possible price so that everyone else is out of luck, and has to buy the flippers coins on ebay or somewhere else for twice the issue price.
...
If you're a collector, then you'd appreciate the chance to be able to purchase one at issue price, or a little above. If you're a flipper, you'd try and maximize profit and number of coins purchased. You'd place 80 orders just so the product is sold out, and people are forced to buy your coins which you are now listing on ebay for twice what you just paid for them.

They hoard a huge amount and now try to get rid of it. lol

Might be they also hoard a lot of Butterfly coin so they need some fund back.

That can explain why the GB sold out so fast.

This coin issue price $29.95
if the dealer sells it for $35 - it is acceptable.
There is no crash here. And also no speculation.

In his ad, he sets a limit of 5 coins per customer.

Limit 5 Per Customer!

If he was really trying to get rid of his whole supply quick; why would he make a limit? Wouldn't he want them all sold as fast as possible, no matter how many someone wanted.

LOL!
Fact #1: they have 5 coin limit so it's hardly a "try to get rid of it"
Fact #2: they are selling it with either 40% or 20+% markup (not sure if $35 is before or after tax) so how is this a buble burst or fire sale?

I think JandM simply hoarded too many. Not sure how any dealer will cope with so many new coins coming out this year.

Set a limit doesn't mean anything.

Even with Mint. You can get more pass the Limit if you have a Rep.
Also for CP phone order. When they set a limit to 5 for the 2nd dino. But people can place another order after hang up the phone.

Same for this dealer. For sure you can get more than 5 if you call them and place your order. They are more than happy to sale as many as they can.

"Crash" is a very strong word. But I do believe ebay and the like have affected their business.
